Building reliable, secure
software that lasts.

I'm Timme Kingma, a full-stack software engineer studying Software Development at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, with a focus on secure architecture. I work across the stack - from interactive frontends to the systems underneath - and care about code that stays maintainable long after it ships.

About Me

About

A full-stack engineer with a security mindset

I'm a 23-year-old software engineer from Meppel, Netherlands, currently finishing my studies at Windesheim while working as a developer at djurve. I like solving problems that span the whole stack - from interface to database - and I build with security and maintainability in mind, not as an afterthought.

Who Am I?

Hi, I'm Timme Kingma. I'm currently studying Information Technology at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle, Netherlands, with a focus on software engineering and security. I live in Meppel and I'm 23 years old.

When I'm not coding, you'll probably find me hitting the gym, riding my motorcycle, or exploring new ways to improve my programming skills. I'm passionate about both physical and mental challenges, and I love pushing myself to learn and grow.

Although I'm still early in my career, I'm excited to see where my journey in tech will take me. Whether it's diving deeper into software development, security, or something else entirely, I'm always up for new challenges and opportunities.

My Journey

My interest in IT began when I was just 4 years old, playing video games on my PS1. My family later upgraded to a PS2, and my brother and I spent countless hours playing games like Need for Speed and James Bond: GoldenEye. I found myself fascinated not just by the games but by how everything worked mechanically, the phones I used, the cars in the game, and everything behind the scenes. This curiosity about technology grew with me over the years.

After finishing my preparatory secondary vocational education, I wasn't sure where to go next. I always loved being creative, drawing and exploring new things, but I followed a friend's lead into Game Development. I completed the program, but during my internships, I realized I needed something more. I wanted to challenge myself and truly grow in the field of IT. That's when I decided to continue my education at Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. Here, I'm pushed to give my best and continue expanding my knowledge, not only through my coursework but also in my free time.

During my Game Development studies, I completed two valuable internships. The first was at NoPressureStudios, a game studio in Emmen, Netherlands, where I helped develop a game that reached over a million plays. My second internship was at VR Owl, where I learned about clean coding practices and effective teamwork. These experiences taught me how crucial it is to not just write code, but to work collaboratively with others. Through these roles, I've also developed a strong work ethic and a passion for continuous self-improvement.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to see where my IT career takes me. One of my biggest aspirations is to one day lead a team of interns and teach them the skills I wish I'd learned earlier in my journey. For now, my immediate goal is to finish my education at Windesheim and complete two amazing internships that will help me grow even further as a developer.

Crazy Cars

Finished
A browser racing game with over 1 million plays, built during my internship at NoPressureStudios. moreless

I helped develop Crazy Cars while working closely with my internship supervisor, an artist at NoPressureStudios.

Slot Zuylen

Finished
An update to the Slot Zuylen project, developed at Vrowl. moreless

I worked on an existing project and delivered an update that is currently live.

Syncreon

Finished
An application foundation and customer-focused updates for Syncreon, developed at Vrowl. moreless

I built the base of the application and adapted it to the customer's goals, with support from a colleague at Vrowl.

djurve

Finished
A reusable internal web editor for djurve's platform, built with Svelte and TypeScript. moreless

I developed both the frontend and backend, making the editor reusable across different modules. The project also gave me practical experience with Azure Pipelines in a professional environment.

Personal Projects

These are personal projects I've built in my free time to explore new technologies, solve real problems, and expand my skills. Each project represents experimentation and learning outside of professional work.

Finished
An interactive visualizer that generates mazes in real time. moreless

Explore recursive backtracking, Prim's, and Kruskal's algorithms with customizable parameters, and watch each maze take shape.

Ongoing
A real-time chat application built with ASP.NET Core and SignalR. moreless

The application combines user authentication and end-to-end encryption with live messaging between users.

Finished
A complete 2D physics simulation built from scratch in Java. moreless

The engine handles realistic collision detection and object interactions, with spatial optimization to keep the simulation running smoothly.

Live Demo
An interactive 2D visualization of A* pathfinding, built in Unity. moreless

Set start and end points, place obstacles, and watch the algorithm find the optimal path in real time.

Finished
A WPF application that automates invoicing for my parents' business. moreless

I built it to explore N-tier architecture while solving a practical problem: generating invoices for a real business.
